Dr. Fritz Reusswig, Director of Consumption and Lifestyle Research, PIK, Potsdam:

“The Product Carbon Footprint for consumer products and services not only provides the necessary transparency that has been missing from markets until now – to let buyers of consumer products apply their climate protection preferences to everyday purchase decisions. It also represents an important control mechanism for ecological modernisation of the production and distribution chains on the way to a Low Carbon Economy. Lately, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) has started putting greater emphasis on scientific research into concrete measures for climate protection. The planned PCF Pilot Project is an excellent opportunity for this.”
